Certifications

01. We are B Corp Certified!

At the end of 2025, we officially became a Certified B Corporation™. We joined a global community of 10,000+ B Corps using business as a force for good. B Corp evaluates a company’s environmental, social and governance practices, verifying standards through an independent third-party. Certification requires strong fulfillment of requirements across all of these topics.

We’re proud of this milestone and committed to continuing the work ahead!

03. Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) Validated Target

The SBTi’s target dashboard shows companies and financial institutions that have set science-based targets or have committed to developing targets. Canary is on track to achieve our SBTi targets regarding carbon emission reduction in 2030. We are monitoring our emissions annually and making steps to decrease our carbon footprint year over year.

 ISO 27001 Certified

[CS1] Canary has maintained ISO 27001 certification since 2022 and undergoes an independent audit against the standard each year. Canary also conducts annual internal audits of our Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), guided by a formal ISMS Internal Audit Procedure. In cases where non-conformities are identified - whether through audits, reviews, or ongoing monitoring - we initiate our Corrective Action and Continual Improvement Procedure to resolve issues and enhance our systems. Canary also complies with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (EU-U.S. DPF) as set forth by the U.S.

Canary’s Internal Sustainability Initiatives

01. Sustainable Product Offerings

We put thought and care into every piece of our projects. We are always getting creative with our sustainable products, offering everything from seed paper inserts to notebooks made from apple cores. Our list of eco-friendly options includes renewable, recyclable, and compostable gifts alongside packaging made from Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), OEKO-TEX, and USDA Organic certified materials. Besides growing our sustainable repertoire of products, we also prioritize reusing materials to reduce waste and prevent unnecessary production with every order.

02. Suppliers with Environmental Certifications

Our impact on the environment begins with purposeful factory selection. That is why we partner with hundreds of B-Corp, 1% for the Planet, Fair Trade, and Carbon Neutral certified factories to make our influence as positive as possible. We are also constantly scouting for new companies and industry innovations to support and share with our clients.

03. Green Packaging

Opting for more sustainable packaging materials doesn’t have to break the bank or take away from an unboxing experience! Canary offers so many different swaps to make your packaging choices more green! From compostable bags & boxes, non-plastic packaging tape, recyclable paper shreds, to new innovations like mailing bags made out of recycled limestone! Waste management is also very top of mind for our fulfillment warehouses as they minimize any excess packaging materials.  Many times boxes are given a 2nd or 3rd life by continuously using them over and over again!

04. Decoration Methods

At Canary, we look at each project from all angles…carbon footprint, sustainable materials, eco-friendly packaging, and waste management. Every detail matters, and your logo should be the main event! This is why we utilize suppliers offering innovative decoration methods like algae inks, carbon air inks, eco-threads for embroidery, water-based inks, and more!

05. Upcycling

Here at Canary we always aim to put sustainability and the process of upcycling goods first. It's not unusual to have leftover branded merchandise. Whether it’s some shirts from last year’s event or items with an outdated company logo, the question is the same: How to dispose of unusable swag in a responsible way? We also collaborate with a network of vendor partners with upcycling capabilities. If clients reach out with old merchandise they don’t want ending up in a landfill, we can give it a second life with some new style!

06. Logistics

Canary believes that every project is an opportunity to minimize emissions. This is why we optimize our packaging sizes, build relationships with factories all around the world for localized production, and choose the least carbon intensive shipping methods whenever possible.

07. We Plant A Tree for Every Order!

Canary has been a proud partner of veritree since 2024!

veritree provides confidence that the impacts of our efforts investing in nature-based solutions are real, measured and verified. Through this partnership, we ensure the right trees are planted in the right place. And once the trees are planted, they stay in the ground as intended.

At the end of this year, Canary will count all orders placed in 2026 and help plant one tree for every purchase made. Check out our impact hub here!

08. In-Office Practices

Canary is headquartered in a LEED Gold/LEED Silver in SF certified building, with another office earning LEED Silver. This distinction recognizes sustainable design including water-saving plumbing and landscaping, sustainably sourced paper products, and a PV solar panel project projected to be completed in 2026.

Spare product samples are donated to local charities or given to employees, and any packaging or material that can be used again is saved for future use. Lastly, we compost and recycle, and train employees on how to reduce their own carbon and waste footprint as well.

09. Data Transparency

Canary will continue to intensify our sustainability efforts and goals. To do this, we collect data on our transportation emissions and sustainable suppliers to identify how we can improve best. We release an annual Sustainable Impact Report Card detailing this operational information. Our participation in multiple sustainability assessments provides robust guidelines to continually build out our sustainability program. We analyze company performance to set targets related to impactful areas for our industry, communities, and the planet.
